Underdonk is pleased to announce ‘With Your Hands’ Sophia Rauch’s Spring Presentation in our new space in Williamsburg at 87 Richardson St.

‘With your Hands’ will include three distinct bodies of work. A wall painting produced onsite with the collaboration of New York based artists, a painting remnant from a studio painting, and prints from Rauch’s newly released book ‘Scans at Home’ published by FLTFL.

Rauch enlists the collaboration of fellow artists; captures and quantifies their marks, questioning originality, beauty, and labor. Rauch asks her collaborators to paint directly on her work- an act of editing, defacing or augmenting. ‘Production Line’, an ongoing project, mimics the labor of a factory environment- suspiciously close to the methods of many contemporary artist studios.

Sophia Rauch received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. She lives and works in New York.
