Eastside International is pleased to present “Underdonk @ ESXLA,” a group show of work selected by Underdonk as part of the Trading Aces project organized by ARTRA Curatorial and Ashley Garrett.

Bringing together a group of 7 New York artists and 5 Los Angeles artists, this show focuses on themes of distance, darkness, and surface textures across a range of mediums. Various forms reach inward and outward while demonstrating the possibility and impossibility of connecting across large physical distances and into inner personal spaces. Precision, expression, humor and performance are evidenced through flowers, grids, figures, abstract geometries, and sculptural gestures, as works by artists from opposite coasts animate themselves into relationships with one another, creating a dynamic that becomes intimate while holding onto its strangeness.
